KKHI/Denver Sold, Flips

KKHI/Denver flips to Christian "The Way" after the station's recent sale. This marks the fourth loss of Smooth Jazz in the market over the years, beginning with the original KHIH (K-High, programmed by Becky Taylor) and its second incarnation as a Clear Channel outlet, as well as Lincoln Financial Media's KJCD under the aegis of PD Michael Fischer.

Oasis Awards' Host Hotel: Hard Rock

The 2011 Oasis Music Awards will feature two headliner-studded shows the weekend of March 10-13, 2011, in San Diego, CA. After a Cocktail Kick-Off Party at the host hotel, The Hard Rock, the opening night (Thurs., March 10) show will take place at the Balboa Theater. The Awards themselves, and the all-star show that is presented with the Awards, will happen on Sat., March 12, at the San Diego Civic Theater. A Red Carpet arrival to recognize the artists, performers and presenters will be held in front of the San Diego Civic Theater preceding the Awards show.

"Choosing these particular venues was easy for several reasons," said awards co-managing producer Bill Paddock. "They are both beautiful, intimate facilities, perfect for Contemporary Jazz. Located in downtown San Diego, in the Gaslamp Quarter, and just a few blocks from the waterfront, they are perfect. And in dealing with the management of the venues, it became obvious that they care about the arts, the artists and the concert goers as we do."
