AC WMGN/Madison PD Pat O'Neil comments: "The bad economy, the collapse of R&R and the end-of-the-road for so many Smooth Jazz stations happened in the midst or a streak of poor releases, unimaginative generic stuff. After 14 years we're still doing well – No.1 in fact -- with our five hour Smooth Jazz Magic Sunday Morning show, but currents/recurrents mean less than ever here

[WMGN still plays 10 of each].

"We're playing a couple cuts from the Paul Brown/Marc Antoine release, Vanessa

Williams' 'The Real Thing,' Jesse Cook's 'Café Mocha' Jessy J's 'Tropical Rain.' Wayne Brady's 'Ordinary' sounds good and we also play the completely overlooked version of 'Ain't No Sunshine' by Wynonna."

Broadcast Architecture Smooth Jazz Network evening personality Maria Lopez writes, "My dear, [good] to 'hear' your voice on the printed word landscape -- a barren wasteland where our music is concerned."

WJCD/Norfolk MD of nine years, Larry "LeKool" Hollowell strokes me shamelessly: "I just re-read Outside Looking In, and must say it is great food for thought. It is really some valuable, and deep, commentary from you and some of the big hitters in the world of Smooth Jazz. I was really taken by the article. Keep up the fantastic work."
